I’m often asked how I began Brookby Herbs, so for those of you who are interested, here it is

Brookby Herbs began back in 1994 when the medicinal herbal market was starting to take off in New Zealand. We began growing organic Echinacea for the human health market and from here began feeding herbs to our own animals.

As a company we have always come from a philosophy of organics and general caring for the environment. The health of people and their animals seem’t to go hand in hand with the environment and from this stand point we began to develop a range of natural herbs for animal health and particularly horses.

Brookby Herbs is a family owned company, situated near Clevedon, New Zealand. We specialise in producing herbal health blends and more recently  organically certified herbal health extracts for animals which come under the brand of organic-horse and organic-dog.  We have also just released a new range of organic-cat products.

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting New Zealand, you may have seen some of the beautiful scenery, which has been filmed for both movies and television series.  Many of the scenes in last years Chronicles of Narnia movie were filmed in New Zealand, along with King Kong, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, River Queen, Hercules, Xena Warrior Princess and many more.

Brookby Herbs is dedicated to producing the highest quality herbs. Our herbs are taken straight from the field to our specifically designed drying equipment within 2 hours of harvesting, a critical aspect of herb production, resulting in very little loss of active ingredients. Our processes seal the active ingredients and maintain optimal quality. 

Organic Dog also provides herbs used by the human market and undergo stringent quality testing under standardised world methods for testing active ingredients.
